Jeremy Miller wins first Yellow Book USA Mid-Am feature as George Schultz is DQed

KAUKAUNA, WI -- Jeremy Miller never saw Wisconsin InternationalRaceway's half-mile paved track before Saturday night, but the Yellow Book USA Mid-American Stock Car Series Series rookie adopted quickly as he was declared the winner of the 30-lap feature race Saturday night at the Kaukauna raceway. Miller was able to slip inside Bobby Gutknecht on the final lap along the backstretch for what proved to be the winning move in the race. Two-time Rockford Speedway late model champion Bobby Hacker paced the field for the opening six laps before gutknecht raced past into the lead. Gutknecht stretched out a big lead, but his advantage was erased when Gary Benion and Shawn Utphall spun in turn four to bring out a caution flag,

When the race was resumed Gutknecht has the entire field lineup up behind him and Schultz was able to get past with five laps remaining. Schultz was later disqualified for having ballast mounted too low on his car. Miller inherited the win while Gutknecht was second, Jonathan Eilen third, Peter Hernandez fourth and Hacker fifth. Defending series champion Bill Prietzel rounded out the top six. Prietzel was the fastest qualifier in the 28-car field with a time of 21.054. The next Yellow Book USA Mid-American Stock Car Series race is Saturday night, June 19 at Lake Geneva Raceway.
