Jeremy Miller roars to Yellow Book USA victory in Lynch Chev Pontiac GMC 40
LAKE GENEVA, WI -- Jeremy Miller roared to victory in the Lynch
Chev Pontiac GMC 40 Saturday night at the Lake Geneva Raceway before one of
the largest crowds of the year. It was Miller's third career win in the Yellow
Book USA Mid-American Stock Car Series behind the wheel of the Five & Drive
Auto Sales Grand
Prix. The former Rockford Speedway late model division rookie of the year blasted
past early leader Jonanthan Eilen to take over the top spot on lap 33. The "Rockton
Rocket" then held off two-time Yellow Book USA Series champion Bill Prietzel
to win by one car length. Eilen battled door-to-door throughout the race with
Ken Joosten. Joosten used the lower lane and moved inside Eilen several times,
but could never get completely past Eilen. Miller worked inside Joosten on
lap 27 and then six laps later got around Eilen "I saw Bill (Prietzel)
behind me and I knew it would be a heck of a finish. We hooked up together coming
throught the field," Miller noted. Miller, who was the fastest qualifier,
started l4th in the feature as a dice roll determines the invert. Eilen held
on to third at the finish followed by Bobby Gutknecht, Peter Hernandez and Joosten.
The only caution flag during the feature race came on lap nine when George Schultz
and James Swan tangled in turn four. Both drivers were able to continue.
The next Yellow Book USA Mid-American Stock Car Series race is the Firecracker
50 Saturday night, June 26 at the 141 Speedway in Francis Creek, WI.
