SAUK CENTRE, MN -- Bill Prietzel of Franklin, WI leads the
Yellow Book USA Super Truck point standings heading into a two race swing into
Minnesota this weekend. The 500 horsepower super trucks will compete in 40-lap
features Friday night, August 6 at the Fergus Falls Raceway in Fergus Falls
and Saturday night, August 7 at i-94 Raceway in Sauk Centre, MN. Both tracks
are 3/8-mile banked, paved ovals. Local competition includes late models, legends,
four cylinders and street stocks.
It will be possible for one driver to earn over $2,000 during
the weekend with added bonus money from the Pace American Trailer company. "We
had a great, nearly perfect super truck the last time we were at Fergus Falls,"
Prietzel said. The win at Fergus Falls was among his three victories on the
traveling circuit this year. The super trucks race in Wisconsin, Missouri, Illinois,
Iowa and Minnesota. John Vig, Jr of Shakopee, MN has won two of the last three
series events and could be a top challenger for the weekend. Prietzel and Vig
both drive 2004 Ford super trucks. The 2003 series champion Donnie Woller of
Merrill, WI is coming off his first win of the year last weekend at Pepsi Raceway
Park in Tomahawk, WI. He also drives a Ford.
Other top drivers expected for the weekend include Jamie Farrell of New Prague,
MN, John Froelich of Chippewa Falls, WI, Randy Garrison of Beatrice, NE, Tony
Holm of Prior Lake, MN, Michael Schmitz of Northfield, MN, Kyle Bauknecht of
Reedsville, WI, Gordy Swanson of Apple Valley, MN, Ricky Archer of Kearney,
MO, Anthony Brewer of Shakopee, MN, Gary Fredrickson of Northfield, MN, and
Dale Peterson Jr of Bedford, OH.
