Dave Schriener will compete in Classics League with Labonte Sunoco Cutlass

DEERFIELD, WI -- Terry Labonte's Sunoco Olds Cutlass will be back on the speedway when the Stock Car Classics League kicks off its 2005 season Saturday night, June 11 at the LaCrosse Fairgrounds Speedway in West Salem, WI. Drivers from the vintage stock car series will take to the half-mile paved oval with many familar former NASCAR Cup, Busch, USAC and short track stock cars. Schreiner is among a large group of new drivers attracked to the series. "I looked around at some other divisions, but was turned on by the idea of driving an actual former Winston Cup car.   This is true vintage racing," he said. Schreider raced at Lake Geneva, Jefferson and Columbus in the 1970s and 80s.   "I got out of it to raise a family, but I still have the urge to go racing," Schreiner continued. "I am amazed by the number of these cars around the Midwest.  I am actively out there trying to get more people involved," Schreiner concluded.

The Stock Car Classics is one of five divisions running under the Mid-American Racing banner in 2005.  Other divisions include American Stockcar League, Mid-American Stock Car Series, Midwest AllStar Late Models and Mid-Am Super Trucks.  A complete list of schedules is posted on the series website at asl-midamracing.com or call 920-823-2856 for more information.
