Van Oudenhoven, Bjorklund expected to renew rivalry at I-94 Raceway in MARS Series 100

SAUK CENTRE, MN -- Jeff Van Oudenhoven of Kimberly, WI and Blake Bjorklund of Isanti, MN are expected to renew their rivalry in the Midwest AllStar Series 100 Saturday night, June 4 at the 3/8 mile paved I-94 Raceway in Sauk Centre, MN.   The pit area opens at 3 p.m. followed by qualifying at 6 p.m. and racing at 7 p.m.  Several I-94 Raceway local divisions will also compete during the evening.

Van Oudenhoven is a two-time MARS Series late model champion, but Bjorklund nipped Van Oudenhoven to become the first Minnesota driver to ever win a MARS Series event last year in the first of three races at Sauk Centre.  Van Oudenhoven came back to win by inches over Bjorklund in the 2004 series finale at I-94.  Van Oudenhoven wrapped up the overall crown with Bjorklund taking second overall and the rookie of the year honors. The top 14 qualifiers, two by series points and the top four finishers in the 20-lap last chance race will make up the starting lineup for the feature race. Series bonus awards could amount to over $4,000 for the race for drivers carrying the correct decal package.  The Valvoline Cup program will also be posting some free cases of oil.
