Chuck King edges Bill Paul in exciting Stock Car Classics Milwaukee Mile race

WEST ALLIS, WI -- Chuck King edged Bill Paul by inches in the 12-mile Midwest Stock Car Classics feature race Saturday afternoon at The Milwaukee Mile. King took the lead on the final turn of the last lap when he and Paul darted between two lapped vehicles in turns three and four.  They came out of turn four wheel-to-wheel with King inching ahead at the finish line.

"At our drivers meeting we discussed taking it easy the first few laps, but we were really racing hard at the end," King said.  "Some of these guys had only run road courses before today's race, but I think everybody enjoyed running the oval," he added. King drove a former Shawna Robinson NASCAR Ford Taurus to the win.  Paul was aboard a former Brett Bodine Taurus while third place finisher Jeremy Spoonmore wheeled a  Ward Burton Dodge.    Steve Markey was fourth in a Tommy Houston Busch Thunderbird, Mike Mulkay fifth in a Greg Sacks Monte Carlo and John Vassh sixth in a Dave Marcis Dodge Charger. King was the 2003 series champion while Paul won a feature race earlier this year at Madison International Speedway.

Vassh earned enough points to nab the 2005 series title.
