(01-12-04) The Midwest Allstar Series (MARS) will be testing
a crate engine for the 2004 season from Schwanke Racing Engines. With the cost
of racing continuing to go up, the series feels this engine will help bring
racing back to the more affordable level. The series will be testing the six-liter
fuel injected engine with starting weight to be between 2900 and 2950. The cost
of the engine will be under $13,000 dollars or the team has the option of leasing
the engine for under $8,000 dollars.
The engine will be tested by the 2003 American Speed Association
(ASA) champion Kevin Cywinski, Brad Mueller is also very interested in testing
this engine out. For more information on this engine you can visit the engine
builders website at http://www.schwankeshortblocks.com
