SCHEDULED SEASON OPENER RAINED OUT AT NORWAY SPEEDWAY

NORWAY, MI - Persistent rain showers and cold weather forced Dickinson County Racing Association officials to cancel the scheduled 2003 Bob's Homes Season
Opener at the Norway Speedway Friday. Rain began to fall early in the day and did not stop until late afternoon. Cold winds and falling temperatures made the call easy for President John Ostermann. "You hate to have to cancel any show but you don't want to lose the opener because everyone is so fired up to go racing," Ostermann said. "It's tough to start the season that way. Hopefully next week will be better and we can get this thing going."

Sierra Mist Late Models and Auto Value Super Stocks will highlight the season's first event on Friday night, May 16. Qualifying is set to begin at 6:00 pm with the first green flag falling at 7:30 pm. The Norway Speedway is located at the Dickinson County Fairgrounds, just off of Highway 8 in Norway, MI.
