Plymouth Dirt Track Results (September 15th, 2007)

The 2007 Plymouth Dirt Track regular season racing concluded this past Saturday, crowning a new champion in each of its four regular divisions of racing.  Advance Machine LLC of Sheboygan sponsored the night of great racing action.

The Grand National division was up first with a great A-main that would go to the last lap to determine the champion.  Mark Scholten of Random Lake picked up the feature win, keeping his car at the point while contesting with heavy lapped traffic. Fellow Random Lake drivers Jeremy Sauter and Brad Mueller had four points seperating them for the championship, a difference of two finishing positions. Sauter had the lead in the race, and finishing two positions ahead of Mueller sealed the deal for his championship run in the 2007 season.

Brian Genske of Cleveland finished second in the feature, followed by Brian Kaat of Plymouth, Jeremy Sauter, and Brad Dahmer of Sheboygan Falls.

In the B-main, Luke Scholten picked up the win and the first of four transfers with Dean Horneck in second, Tony Miller in third, and Will Sorce in fourth.

Brad Lubach of Elkhart Lake, Bob Cullen of Chilton, Doug Teunnisen of Sheboyan Falls, and Brad Dahmer all picked up heat race wins.

Late Models A-main saw Russ Scheffler of Waukesha taking charge and going to the point to prove why he was crowned the 2007 PDT champion for the division, picking up the win for the 25 lap feature. Bill Rezutek of Big Bend was second, Dan Sorce of Franklin was third, Rick Scheffler of Waukesha was fourth, and Scott Specht of Sheboygan Falls rounded out the top five.

Brian Haese (Greenbush) continued his banner season with a win in the B-main for the Late Models, Craig Scheuffner finished second, Mark Zimmerman was third, and Scott Sohrwiede was fourth for the transfers into the A-main.

Heat race action saw the Al Atkinson of Milwaukee pick up the first heat race, Bill Rezutek won the second, and Scott Specht won the third and final heat race.

In the Sprint car division Escanaba, MI, driver Earl Possi went to the point in the feature and found a racing groove to keep his car out front, keeping seasoned drivers Rob Pribnow of Mayville and Josh Walter behind him. Pribnow would go on to finish second, Walter third, Travis Luedke of Plymouth was fourth, and Kenjay Fiedler was fifth.

Travis Luedke was crowned champion in the Sprint car division after having a great run this season, topping it off with another top 5 finish.

Jason Johnson picked up the win in the first of two B-mains for the Sprints, with Doug Wondra and Leroy Ostrowski right behind him for the three transfer spots. While Brian Johnson picked up the second B-main win, setting a new track record, over Shane Wenniger and Brandon Thone.

2007 Champion Travis Luedke picked up the first heat race win, Josh Walter won the second heat, Troy Wondra won the third, and Brian Portschy picked up the win in the final heat for the sprints.

In the Outlaw Compact division, Jason Voss of Plymouth picked up the feature win over Jason Juech of West Bend, with Steven Weber of Plymouth in third, Chad Riederer of Glenbuelah was fourth, and Jesse Cullen of Chilton rounded out the top five.

Jay Riemer was crowned Champion in the Outlaw Compacts at the conclusion of the A-main.

Jesse Cullen and Jeremy Miller picked up the wins in the heat races for the Outlaws.

After the conclusion of all the A-mains, Plymouth hosted its second P-town Showdown for the top eight drivers in the Sprint car division to compete in a bracketed shootout for a $1000 cash prize. It came down to Kenjay Fiedler and Earl Possi for the final five lap shoot out, and Fiedler rocketed his car to the line for the win.
