Plymouth Dirt Track Raceway July 26th Results

The sky was clear and the weather was warm this past Saturday night at Plymouth Dirt Track.

The Sprint car division were first in the rotation for the evening.

Danny Schlafer, Sussex, proved again why he is the winningest driver in the sprint car division by winning the lengthy feature. With great restarts after the red flags and cautions in the event, Schlafer was able to hold off hard charging Lance Fassbender, Burnett, and Jason Johnson, Allenton. Fassbender finished second, but Johnson slipped back to finish fourth. Jim Melis of Glenbulah, returning to racing for the first time this season, finished third in the feature. Troy Wondra, Lomira, was the fifth place finisher.

The red flag was brought out three times in the feature, all three drivers were ok.

Earl Possi, Escanaba, MI, found himself once again needing to get into the feature by transfering from the B-mains, but he was able to pull it off and pick up the win and the transfer in the first of two B-mains. Scott Conger, Eagle, was second, and Jeremy Schultz, Beaver Dam, was third.

In the second B-main, Paul Pokorski, West Bend, took the checkers over Robbie Pribnow, Mayville, and Tony Wondra, Lomira.

Heat winners for the sprint division were: Brian Portschy, Plymouth, Tim Haddy, Waupun, Wayne Modjeski, Oak Creek, and Lance Fassbender.

In the Grand National division, Brian Gilles, a former Plymouth Dirt Track champion, filled in for Tim Warner and was able to use lapped traffic to get around Matt Yancey, Sheboygan Falls, for the lead. He held off Yancey and Luke Scholten, Oostburg to get the win in the feature. Yancey was second, Scholten was third, Brian Kaat, Plymouth, was fourth, and Tim Thompson, Campbellsport, rounded out the top five.

Jestin Danes, New Hostein, won the B-main over Loren Lubach, Sheboygan. Joel Beyer was third, and Gary Glander, Sheboygan Falls, was fourth.

Heat winners for the Grand National division were Luke Scholten, Brian Gilles, Tyler Nault, Port Washington, and Chad Kistner, New Holstein.

Late Model division saw Scott Specht, Sheboygan Falls, picking up his second A-main feature win this season with another great last lap pass. Russ Scheffler, Waukesha, was second. Rick Scheffler, Waukesha, was third. Billy Rezutek, Big Bend, was fourth, and Brad Mueller, Random Lake was fifth.

Heat winners for the Late Models were Rick Scheffler and Billy Rezutek.

Tim Simon, Fond du Lac, found his way back to victory lane in the Outlaw Compact division for the feature. He had a hot rod underneath his finishin almost half a lap ahead of second place finisher Jason Juech, West Bend.

Dennis Born and Tammy Flunker, Cascade, were the heat winners for the division.

Plymouth Dirt Track races ever Saturday Night at the Sheboygan County Fairgrounds. Gates open at 4:30 p.m. Racing starts immediately following opening ceremonies at 6:00p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults,$5 for students aged 12-15, and accompanied children 11 and under are free.
