Over one hundred and thirty cars were on hand for the Charter Communications Customer Appreciation Night at The Raceway at Powercom Park in Beaver Dam, WI on Saturday night. Fifty-six modifieds took to the track in pursuit of the $500 to win and increased purse throughout the A-Main field.

Jay Schraufnagel of Beaver Dam moved up quickly from his fourth row starting position to take over the lead on lap three of the Suburban Motors Harley-Davidson/Buell 20-lap Modified A-Main. Schraufnagel went on to capture his second win of the season. Nick Woods of Beaver Dam, who led the opening laps, drove to second after holding off the challenges of current point leader Andy Voigt of Beaver Dam. Larry Zirbel of Iron Ridge came from deep in the starting field to finish in fourth. Eddie LeMay Jr. of Milwaukee drove to his first top five finish of the season coming across the line in fifth.

Tim Doehling of Winneconne moved on top of the point standings in the Northwoods Paper Converting Grand Nationals division when he raced to his second A-Main win of the season. Roger Lee of Wind Lake made several attempts to get by Doehling on the final lap and had to settle for a second place finish. Steve Seitz of Beaver Dam came from the back to finish a strong third. Early race leader Troy Weich of Fond du Lac followed in fourth. F.W. Formiller of Oshkosh took fifth.

Dannon Tessmer of Allenton scored his first win of the season in the Dodge Central Credit Union Stocks A-Main. Tessmer took over the lead on lap two and cruised to the victory. Don VanderGalien of Wautoma followed in second. Point leader Trevor Schmidt of Hartford drove to third ahead of Brent Lepple of Beaver Dam. Bruce Troesch of Hartford came across the line in fifth.

Eric Barth of Sauk City slipped past Aaron Rake of Beaver Dam on lap nine of the Gibbsville Cheese INEX Legends A-Main to take over the lead and then race to his second win of the season. Rake stayed close the rest of the way to finish in second. Greg Hartlaub of Sheboygan Falls ran well on his way to a third place finish. Kevin Brill of Oostburg drove to fourth ahead of Craig Boettcher of Reeseville.

Jasper Drengler of Shawano took over the point lead after capturing the Wally’s Auto Dirt Devil A-Main. It was the second win of the season for Drengler. Matt Rechek of Beaver Dam picked his way through traffic to finish in second. Mike Mueller of Waupun followed in third. Nick Firari of Reeseville edged out J.R. Gutmann of Waupun for fourth.

In B-Main action, Brian Drexler of Oshkosh and Scott Houpt of Belgium were victorious in the modified division while Jon Schultz of Belleville claimed the win in the dirt devil division.

Modified heat race wins were recorded by Brian Mullen of Seymour, Nick Woods, Eddie LeMay Jr., Jay Schraufnagel and Mike Klenz of Sobieski. Roger Lee won the Grand National heat. Stock heat race wins went to Nate Schepp of Beaver Dam and Don VanderGalien. Legend heat race victories were registered by Eric Barth and Greg Hartlaub. Dirt Devil heat race action saw Nick Rennhack of Juneau, Tim Thrun of Horicon and Dana Wille of Beaver Dam pick up wins.

The Wisconsin Dirt Late Models Association will join the Suburban Motors Harley-Davidson/Buell Modifieds, Northwoods Paper Converting Grand Nationals, Dodge Central Credit Union Stocks, Gibbsville Cheese INEX Legends and Wally’s Auto Dirt Devils on the program for Saturday June 26. Racing action will begin at a special start time of 6:00 p.m.
