6/2/05 - Consolidated Construction Night at WIR

The 10th Frame / Monday Motorsports Chevy Monte Carlo was on hand this evening at WIR for "Thursday Night Thunder" presented tonight by one of our sponsors, Consolidated Construction.

In qualifying, we turned a 19.746 on a nearly flawless lap 1. The same could not be said about the second lap, as the car got very tight. Our second qualifying
lap was a 19.812. The 19.746 was still good enough to put us seventh overall, just .006 seconds out of the dash. All of tonight's qualifying times were slightly
slower due to the hot weather.

In the fast heat race, we started dead last in the 10th spot. We kept the car in one piece and avoided trouble as many cars in front of us raced side by side
bouncing off the walls and each other. We finished the heat race in the 9th position.

In the feature event, we started outside row 2 in the fourth spot. Early in the race, we were able to slide down into the inside lane to grab the third spot. We
waited patiently as the first and second place cars raced hard side by side for the lead. We followed Consolidated Construction sponsored Jim Duchow through
on the outside lane and got into the second spot around lap 12. Duchow proved to be to strong as we were unable to track him down to compete for the feature win. We fought off some pressure from behind with 5 laps to go to secure a solid 2nd place feature finish. Everyone was very pleased with the finish which is our best Late Model feature finish yet.

We are currently 7th in the WIR Late Model Point Standings.

Our next event will be next Thursday, June 9th at WIR for Round 1 of the Budweiser/WAPL Triple Crown Series. The Late Model Feature will be an extended 50 lap event. Racing Starts at 7pm! See you there!
