SVRA 12 HOURS OF SEBRING WILL KICK OFF MJK RACING’S 2009 SEASON

Mjk Racing Headed For The 57th Mobil 1 12 Hours Of Sebring

Altamonte Springs, FL — Michael Kern and the crew of the MJK Racing team are ready to kick off the 2009 racing year at the season opener for the Sportscar Vintage Racing Association (SVRA). This annual event, held in support of the Mobil 1 12 hours of Sebring, will pit a 90 car field of historic and vintage sports cars against each other in both enduro and sprint race formats. The MJK Racing Camaro will once again revert back to its former class designation of IMSA GTS-1 to run the event, but this year there will be a twist – a co-driver. At this year’s race the MJK Racing Camaro will be driven by both Michael Kern and Dalton Zehr, a very fast young ASA Midwest Tour stock car driver. To commemorate the event the MJK Racing Camaro will sport Dalton’s stock car number 119.

“Dalton Zehr Racing of Port Orange, Florida brings a wealth of experience to this year’s race, both from an experienced driver’s standpoint and also a vast experience with race car suspension setup” says Michael Kern the team’s owner and primary driver. “We won our class in this race in 2006, and did not run the race in 2007 or 2008 due to other scheduling conflicts, so we would really like to see victory lane again this year, and with Dalton and I splitting the driving, I think we are in a very good position for a win in 2009” says Kern.

Dalton Zehr Racing supported MJK Racing during the 2008 season with chassis design and suspension setup support resulting in the team crushing all pre-existing circuit lap times set by the car and driver on the way to the team’s inaugural entry of the GT-1 Camaro in the 2008 SCCA National Championship Runoffs at Heartland Park Topeka.

MJK Racing is also proud to announce that FuelClinic.com improved its position within the team to become the new primary marketing partner for the #119 FuelClinic.com Chevrolet Camaro. FuelClinic.com is poised to use motorsports as a marketing tool to enhance national awareness on the need to enhance fuel efficiency.

“The topic of fuel efficiency can be pretty boring. We wanted to add some excitement to the discussion, to have something out of the ordinary that might get people’s attention. MJK Racing and Michael Kern in particular add a sense of something a little bigger than life. In person this guy gets attention, knows what he’s talking about, and can explain it to anyone. Just the kind of partner any business would love to have.” said Michael Bragg, President & CEO of FuelClinic.com.

About Dalton Zehr & Dalton Zehr Racing: Dalton Zehr is not just another driver trying to make it to the big times. This young man has already accomplished more in his racing career than most drivers hope for in a lifetime. He started racing when he was seven years old in Caldwell, Idaho in a class of dirt winged cars. When he was eleven years old he started racing bandolero bandits in Florida. In 2003 Dalton and his father, Marty Zehr, worked with local track owners and Nextel Cup driver Mark Martin to create the FastKids Truck Series for kids ages twelve and up. He walked away with the 2004 FastKids championship. On the day that Dalton turned 14 he ran his very first Super Late Model Race. Shortly after that he went into the Super Bowl of short track racing, Speedweeks. Dalton was by far the youngest participant there and is the youngest so far to ever have competed in this event. In 2005 Dalton raced in the Sunbelt Series, Fastruck Series, Intermountain Series, ProTruck Series, and Mid-America Racing Series (MARS). Along the way in 2005 Dalton managed to break eight track records. In 2006 Dalton ran in the ASA Southern Series for Coleman Racing and at fifteen was still the youngest full time driver in the series. He has co-hosted a short track racing tech show called “Race Scene” and was given a NASCAR Pavement Late Model and an IMCA Dirt Modified by Circle Track Magazine to run whenever he has a chance and correspond directly with them on how the races go. For 2009 Dalton will run in the ASA Midwest Tour. For additional information about Dalton and his team logon to www.daltonzehr.com
