CUSTOM WINDOWS PLUS DRIVER JEROVETZ EYES NATIONAL CROWN
By Joe Verdegan

(Green Bay, WI) July 5 – Custom Windows Plus team driver “General Jed” Troy Jerovetz of Green Bay currently leads IMCA’s national IMCA northern sportmod point standings.

Jerovetz is coming off one hot weekend, where he captured feature wins Friday night at Luxemburg Speedway and Saturday night at Shawano Speedway.  His attempt to score the hat trick was thwarted Sunday night when Seymour Speedway’s program was cancelled by rain.

Jerovetz also made a trip to Iowa July 1where he finished 28th after making the feature out of 80 sportmods in attendance.  He is the current points leader at Luxemburg.  To date, he’s nailed down seven feature wins in 2010.

Speaking of long hauls….Oconto Falls “Dancin Lance” Arneson hustled from his job where he was drilling a well in Armstrong Creek, and drove more than two hours south to make it in a nick of time to 141 Speedway in Francis Creek on June 30.  The long haul paid off,as Arneson captured the IMCA modified feature win on Wisconsin’s newest clay oval.

Kyle Frederick of Gillett has been living on little sleep.  He and his bleary eyed team returned to Luxemburg Speedway July 2, after running down in Iowa all week long.  “We went to bed at 4 a.m. and left Iowa at 7 a.m. for Luxemburg,” said a very tired Frederick, who wound up second in IMCA stock car American Stock car shootout series that week.

Currently Frederick is second in the point standings at Seymour Speedway and fourth at Luxemburg Speedway.  Frederick and Arneson both took part in the Gillett Community parade on July 4.

In other IMCA modified action, CWP  driver “Racin Jason” Czarapata of Pulaski made a triumphant return to Luxemburg Speedway June 24.  Czarapata, a driver with a reputation for building much of his own equipment, won night number one of the prestigious Badger State Showdown at the third-mile, clay oval.  Czarapata sits fourth in the current point standings at both Shawano and Seymour Speedways.

WISSOTA late model driver Nick Anvelink of Bonduel continues to lead the WISSOTA late model point standings at Shawano Speedway.  On June 19 Nick wound up second to Terry in the feature at Shawano Speedway.  Nick and Terry will be competing at 141 Speedway for the Wisconsin Dirt Late Model Association (WDLMA) special Wednesday, July 14.   Both the Anvelink’s will be competing in a special “Civil War” 10 lap grudge race against Waukesha WDLMA late model veteran brothers Russ and Rick Scheffler.

On the asphalt Little Suamico’s Adam White continues to improve week by week, driving a super late model for Dennis Stebane of Hollandtown.  White is currently sixth in the overall weekly point standings and is second in the chase for the rookie-of-the-year crown.

Coming up July 9 will be Custom Windows Plus Night at Luxemburg Speedway.  The street stocks will be an added class which will run with the track’s five weekly divisions.  There will also be big wheel races for the kids at intermission. CWP will also be sponsoring nights at Seymour Speedway July 25 and at 141 Speedway in Francis Creek Wednesday, September 1.
