BELOIT Eben "Butch" Hanson III, 50, of Beloit,
WI, died Wednesday, March 24, 2004 at home surrounded by his loving family after
a 14-year battle with cancer. Butch was born on Aug. 14, 1953 in Algoma, WI,
the son of Eben R. and June (Walecka) Hanson Jr. He graduated from Turner High
School in 1971. He married Vickie L. Luety on Aug. 31, 1974 in Beloit. He was
the owner of Prairie Ave. Concrete Co., owner and president of Hanson Motorsports,
a member of NASCAR, NEBA, Wisconsin Redi-Mix Concrete Assoc., South Central
Builders Assoc. and Rusty Ford and Blue Marlin Golf Assoc. Surviving are his
loving wife, Vickie; 2 sons, Ryan Hanson of Beloit and Seth (Brenda) Hanson
of La Crosse, WI; his parents, Eben and June Hanson Jr. of Beloit; 2 sisters,
Mary (Stan) Gehri and Lisa (Denny) Dooley, both of Beloit; nieces, nephews and
cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents. Funeral services will
be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 27, 2004 in the SCHOENFELD FUNERAL HOME, 1000
Inman Parkway, Beloit, WI, with the Rev. Larry Froemming and Fr. Gary Krahenbuhl
officiating. Burial will be in Turtleville Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday
from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the
American Cancer Society or Beloit Regional Hospice.
