Kroll- Twice is Just as Nice
By Greg Aregoni

Friday Night July 20th-   Charlie Kroll looked great not just once.. BUT TWICE.  Charlie Kroll cashed in on both the IMCA Stockcar Feature and the IMCA Northern Sportmod Feature.

91 cars were on hand including 26 IMCA Stockcars, 25 IMCA Modifieds, 14 Hobby Stocks, 13 IMCA Northern Sport Mods, and 13 4 Cylinders.

Charlie Kroll started on the pole position for the IMCA Northern Sportmod Feature.  He shot out like a cannon to the lead and never looked back.  The only
caution in the feature came when Travis Cain clipped a tire causing the amber.  On the restart, Kroll powered away from both Eugene Gregorich and Joe White to
cruise to his 7th feature win of the season.  White finished second followed by Gregorich, Cain, and Dave Budzban.  The bounty for Kroll will continue Saturday
Night with $300 if anybody can beat him.

Keith Kickbusch used his unusually good starting spot to wrestle the lead away from Brandon Peterson early on in the IMCA Hobby Stock Feature.  Kickbusch would fight with Peterson for the top spot for about three laps before cruising to his fifth feature win of the season.  Roger Laviolette was second followed by Marcus Moede, Dave DeGrave, and Frank Paul.  The race went green to checker.

Jeff Vlies used the outside line to gain the early advantage over Charlie Kroll in the IMCA Stockcar feature.  Kroll would grab the lead using a power move to the inside of Vlies.  Matt Junio shot from eight to second in 4 laps and set up right behind Kroll.  The duo would take off after a series of cautions kept the field close.  Junio tried every single line he could come up with but couldn't make the pass for the lead. Kroll won his second feature of the night followed by Junio, Greg Gretz, Jay Matthias, and Shawn Havel. John Heinz claimed and swapped motors with Matt Junio.

Paul Parker seemed to have the race in hand in the IMCA Modified feature.  Parker cruised away from Benji LaCrosse and Shawn Kilgore early on in the race.
Parker would continue to lead through a series of cautions until contact sent him spinning into a tire. Jared Siefert, who had been working the high side, inherited the lead on the restart.  LaCrosse stayed all over the back bumper but wasn't able to make the pass.  Siefert picked up the win and the $1000 pay day that went with it.  This was Siefert's first race at Thunderhill since he won the championship in 06. LaCrosse settled for second followed by Todd Dart, Kilgore, and Sean Jerovetz.

Kip Burlo won a race long duel with Patrick King to win the 4 Cylinder Feature event.

Tomorrow Nights race is sponsored by the Bull Pen Bar and Grill.  The first 300 people in the grandstands will receive a free can cooler.  Racing starts at 6
p.m. with all 7 divisions in action.  The Tracks website is www.racethunderhill.com For more info call Woody at 743-7052
