CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS BATTLES GOING DOWN TO THE WIRE ON LITTLE HOPPERS NIGHT AT THUNDERHILL

 
(Sturgeon Bay, WI) August 26 - Little Hoppers of Door County to host the second to last points night at Prestige Yacht Coatings ThunderHill Raceway.

Also there is a correction as we will not be having the Halloween theme this week, it has been changed to the second day of the September 10 & 11 Fall Classic.

The IMCA Stock Car title is completely up for grabs as Forestville’s Charlie Kroll and Kewaunee’s Greg Gretz are currently tied for points lead. With only 2 points nights remaining, the championship could come down to the final lap of the season.
 
Luxemburg’s Dave DeGrave picked up with in the Stock Car class, this was his second career stock car win, but first at ThunderHill. Dave won Rookie of the Year honors last season and is a former IMCA Hobby Stock track champion.
 
Sturgeon Bay’s Billy LeMieux became the 11th different winner in 12 points nights in the IMCA Modifieds. Defending champ, Shawn Kilgore is the only repeat points night winner.
 
In the Modified points battle Algoma’s Todd Dart was able to gain one point on DePere’s Jay Matthias last Saturday. Matthias now holds a 10 point edge over Dart.
 
Sturgeon Bay’s Geno Sternard picked up his third win of the season in the Street Stocks, he currently holds a 6 point lead over Rookie Tony Everard of Green Bay. Everard is former multi-time four cylinder champion at The Hill. Former title contender Sturgeon Bay’s James Bosman suffered a blown engine during his heat race and was unable to race the rest of the evening moving him to 3rd in points 17 back.
 
Thunderhill is located at the John Miles Fair Park on Sturgeon Bay’s east side with racing in the six divisions beginning every Saturday night through the summer. With IMCA modifieds, stock cars, hobby stocks, northern sport mods, street stocks & 4 cylinders in action. Pit gates open at 4:00pm, racing starts at 6:00 PM.
