Oconto Falls IMCA Sport Mod driver, Eric “Chummy” Arneson picked up his third feature win of the season Saturday night at Thunderhill. With the win Arneson pulled to a 1 point lead ahead of New Franken’s Brad Lautenbach. Despite not winning a feature last season Arneson was a model of consistency and took home the Sport Mod title and until this season had never won a feature at the Hill.

The IMCA Hobby Stocks will see a first time champion as no drivers in the field has ever won a title. With 6 nights in the books the battle for the title is still up for grabs. Denmark’s Tom Brumlic picked up a division high third feature win of the season. Despite winning half of the features run, he only holds a 1 point edge over two time feature winner Brandon Peterson of Sturgeon Bay. Algoma’s Marcus Moede is the only other driver to win a feature this season, he currently sits tied for third with Sturgeon Bay’s C.J. Weckler 7 marks back.

Noticeably absent in the IMCA Stock Cars was Kewaunee’s Luke Lemmens. Lemmens was the 2010 IMCA Hobby Stock champion at the Hill and is in his first year in the Stock Cars. Despite being a rookie Lemmens came into the weekend 5th in points with 2 feature wins and was ranked 8th in the IMCA National Rookie standings.

Lemmens was involved in a hard wreck Friday night at Luxemburg Speedway when his racer suffered a broken steering box , having no steering it sent his car driver side first into a pack of cars racing by on the front stretch. Green Bay’s Rick Dix and Algoma’s Dave Bouche would get collected in the wreck. Lemmens car would suffer enough damage that he wasn’t able to race the next night. Its still uncertain when the #00 machine will return to action. The Bouche crew would work till 3 A.M. Saturday morning to put the #21 car back together from the wreck and he would come home with an 8th place finish Saturday night.
