MOTHER NATURE CANCELS OPENING NIGHT AT THUNDERHILL RACEWAY

(Sturgeon Bay, WI) April 27 - Prestige Yacht Coatings ThunderHill Raceway has been forced to cancel its opener for April 30. Woody stated the track was worked on for 7 hours on Monday, but cold temperatures and rain received this week has made the track to soft to try and race for Saturday. With rising costs the tracks goal is to give drivers the best racing surface possible and not wreck cars or the track.
Weather permitting racing will resume on Mothers Day weekend May 7 with Dave Hatch Racing and WDOR as the headlining sponsors. The car show portion will be moved over to May 7 at 2:00 P.M. The car show will take place on the midway and full concessions will be available. Class trophies will be awarded for best appearing IMCA Modified, IMCA Stock Car, IMCA Northern Sport Mod, IMCA Hobby Stock, Street Stock and Feisty Four. With racing beginning at 6:00 P.M.
Thunderhill is located at the John Miles Fair Park on Sturgeon Bay’s east side with racing in the six divisions beginning every Saturday night through the summer. IMCA Modified, IMCA Stock Car, IMCA Northern Sport Mod, IMCA Hobby Stock, Street Stock and Feisty Fours in action. Pit gates open at 3:30 P.M. racing starts at 6:00 P.M.
